1st Quarter 2009 FAVORITE WEDDING - 3/14/09
Bride -Tamsyn, Groom – Paul, and MOB – Ralie!!
WEDDING CAKE by Let Them Eat Cake in Phoenix, AZ. Tamsyn chose a black motif and ivory base as their color palette. Personalization of their wedding cake with their first names and last initial were used classically and elegantly! The hexagon shape is one of the hottest trends for cakes this year! They chose chocolate with raspberry filling and lemon with lemon curd as their flavors. We made sure both flavors/fillings of cake were offered to each guest. After the wedding cake the guests were served chocolate covered strawberries and treated to a gourmet coffee station.
WEDDING COLORS – black accents add color to cakes this year, and black is NOT just for funerals! Black-and-white (or ivory in this case) is one of the biggest colors for weddings in 2009, along with hues of purple, fuschia, lime green, tangerine orange, lemon yellow, and platinum.
FLORALS & CENTERPIECES by Designs By Design in Phoenix, AZ. Tamsyn split her room with high and low centerpieces, giving her an elegant look. This is a way to save money on your wedding rather than having all elevated centerpieces. The photo does not show the detail on this exquisite arrangement. A cylinder glass vase was designed using tall willow, hot pink roses, Rosita-Vendella roses, bear grass, green coffee berries, and hydrangea. Sparkling crystals were hung from the branches, and crystals were sprinkled on the table.
PROGRAMS & PLACE CARDS had a black motif which Tamsyn loved, and an accent of pink. The programs, place cards, and the table numbers were all made by her MOH (maid of honor), Gina. Tamsyn and Gina had been best friends since elementary school.
Tamsyn and Paul got married on 3/14/09, and they were my FAVORITE 1st Quarter Couple and MOB for many reasons. Tamsyn, Paul, and Ralie had a relationship of mutual love, respect, and admiration for each other!
Tamsyn “got” that it was not ALL about the wedding, it was about their life together AFTER the wedding!
Tamsyn, Paul, and Ralie, know we will keep in touch! Tamsyn and Ralie, every time I think of your incredible friendship as mother-daughter, I think of my mom, Carole, which passed away in 1993. Her birthday would have been 3/31. Ralie I share with you the desire for daughters to have more of the great things in life and to be a lovable and giving person. Tamsyn is sweetness and light, and has become a lovely person both inside and out. Thank-you for your kind words to all your family and friends at the reception of how having me as your wedding planner was the best thing you did for the wedding, I appreciate it more than I can say! Now that Tamsyn is with Paul, may your evening chats and morning teas continue…..all my best!
If you are wondering WHY did they get “Favorite Couple” for the 1st Quarter… Tamsyn listened and followed my instructions. As a bride, you may have “issues” arise throughout the planning process because of all the personalities involved with your family and friends. Tamsyn faced them with maturity, thoughtfulness, and treated others the way they should be treated.
