Tips on Choosing a Photographer

1. See samples of their work, either on their web site or in person, and when you find photos you love, ask who shot it.
2. Find out the name(s) of the photographer(s) assigned to photograph your wedding. If there is more than one person assigned to your wedding, will both be photographers, or will one be an assistant only.
3. Find out if they shoot film or digital, and what they describe as their photographic style.
4. Find out who will be retouching the photos -- to eliminate blemishes, etc.
5. Find out what is included in the packages for the pricing you will be paying. If there is something you do want versus do not want, now is the time to negotiate items in and out!
6. Find out how many hours of coverage are included, as well as the pricing for overtime.
7. Find out if there is a penalty if you do not place your final order by "x" date, and make sure you get deadlines of delivery of proofs, online previewing, albums, loose prints, etc. in writing so you are not receiving your photographs over a year after the wedding date!
8. Do they include an engagement photo session? This is a great way for the photographer to get to know you, and for you to get to know them!
9. What is their payment, refund, cancellation and change of date policy?
